HOW I SOLD MY OWN BABIES, STOLE 19 CHILDREN — OYO TRAFFICKING SUSPECT CONFESSES

The Oyo State Police Command has dismantled an interstate child-trafficking ring, rescuing 17 children and arresting seven suspects. A key suspect, Adejoke Popoola, also known as “Orente Alagbo,” confessed to trafficking children since October 2024.

Popoola admitted selling two sets of her biological children, including twins for ₦300,000, and stealing 19 children by posing as a prospective tenant or spiritualist, or targeting parents of children with disabilities. She was arrested on August 4, 2026, following the disappearance of a child, Ifakunle, who was later rescued in Ibadan.

Police also arrested Popoola’s alleged accomplice, Adekanbi Janet, and two suspected buyers in Ogun and Delta states, rescuing eight children. Popoola revealed that six of the 19 stolen children had died in custody, while an Alfa and herbalist were arrested over the alleged sale of their bodies to ritualists. The police urged parents of missing children to visit the Eleyele Headquarters in Ibadan for identification and reunification.
