Serena Williams and Venus Williams will reunite for the 2026 US Open women’s doubles tournament after receiving a wild card from the USTA. The sisters, who last competed together at a Grand Slam at the 2022 US Open, have won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles, including US Open championships in 1999 and 2009, as well as three Olympic gold medals.
The 2026 tournament marks their third Grand Slam appearance together since 2016, when they last won a major title at Wimbledon. The sisters reunited at the Cincinnati Open earlier this month but were eliminated in the first round. Serena, who returned to competitive tennis this year after nearly four years away, is focusing on doubles at the US Open, while 46-year-old Venus will also compete in the women’s singles event.
The Williams sisters are scheduled to begin their doubles campaign on September 3 or 4, with the final set for September 11 at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Their return gives fans another opportunity to witness one of tennis’ most successful partnerships, a decade after their last Grand Slam doubles triumph.
